Focusing on Hydration

May means the weather is finally get a bit warmer out!  This has seemed like quite a long Spring but hot weather is on the horizon!  As the weather becomes nicer it is even more important to make sure you are staying hydrated!

One of the easiest and most effective ways to start your day is to begin with drinking a glass of water.  Your body is still naturally in a state of elimination so adding water helps your body to continue the process effectively.  You also have not had any fluid all night so your body is ready for it!  

Luckily it is seen as normal to bring a water bottle to work or while you are out and about.  Yes plain water is best but if you need to add a little something to make it more palatable you definitely can!  Fruit or veggie water is fantastic! (cucumbers, strawberries, lemon, lime..).  You can also add food-grade essential oils to your water for some flavor. Sometimes just the simple act of adding ice helps people to drink it better.  Or consider purchasing a water bottle that you enjoy drinking out of!  You may find you drink more with a straw or maybe with a wide mouth bottle.  Try some out and see!

A good rule of thumb to check and make sure you are drinking enough is checking your output.  If your urine is dark you are dehydrated!  You should aim for very light yellow to clear.
