You can’t get too far in the media today without hearing about the Coronavirus. The best thing to focus on is prevention. If you keep your insides healthy your body won’t be a good host for a virus. Our society tends to focus on the germ theory of disease – if you are exposed to a virus/bacteria you will get sick. If that were true we as humans would cease to exist! Has it ever happened that someone in your household gets sick but the rest of the family does not? Of course! It is almost impossible to not be exposed to other sick family members in the house, especially since often times people are contagious before they show symptoms. So why doesn’t everyone get sick? Because their body was not an adequate host! Viruses and bacteria are scavengers, not predators!
Let’s look at some ways to help your body stay strong! Here are a few of our favorite things!
1- Chiropractic adjustments – Did you know getting adjusted helps to boost your immune system? If your body is able to communicate effectively (i.e. balanced nervous system) then your body is stronger and healthier. Get adjusted on a regular basis to keep yourself healthy!
2- Homemade hand sanitizer – Hand sanitizer is harsh on the skin and can actually be harmful in the long run. Making your own with basic ingredients is a much better way to go. Washing your hands with soap and water is always best but in times where you cannot, homemade hand sanitizer is the way to go. Here is one of our favorite recipes!
3- DesBio Immune Support – This homeopathic formula is wonderful to help your immune system. See below under “remedy highlight” for more information.
4- DesBio Smart Silver – This formula contains very low concentrations of an engineered silver nanoparticles with clinically proven effectiveness in killing pathogens, reducing inflammation, and accelerating wound healing. Taken on a daily basis it is a great immune booster!
5- doTerra onGuard/ Young Living Thieves Oil – both of these combination oils are great for warding off germs. Both can be taken internally, applied externally or diffused to help keep you healthy.
6- Juice Plus – Juice Plus is a whole food supplement – it is organic, vine-ripened fruits and veggies dehydrated into a capsule. Fruits and veggies are one of the best things you can eat to help boost immunity. Juice Plus helps you bridge the gap from what you should be eating and what you actually are eating!
7 – Sunshine! – This one is FREE and usually available. Try to get 10 minutes of sunshine a day. Sunshine helps produce Vitamin D which helps boost your immune system. Get outside!
Of course we can go on and on with this. We can’t forget lots of clean water, exercise and nutritious foods. Also reducing emotional and mental stress (don’t turn on the news!) will help greatly.
What is more contagious – the coronavirus or fear? I think we all know the answer to that. Continue to make great health choices and you will fare well!
